QuettaWal ("we", "our", or "us") is a super app serving the residents of Quetta, Balochistan, Pakistan.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use
our mobile application and related services.
1. Information We Collect
- Account Information: Name, phone number, and email address when you register.
- Location Data: Approximate location to show nearby services, restaurants, hospitals, and accurate prayer times. Location is used only while the app is in use.
- Order Information: Details of food, grocery, transport, courier, and other service orders you place.
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and app version for technical support.
- Usage Data: Features used and pages visited to improve the app experience.
- Profile Data: Profile photo, address book, and preferences you set in the app.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To process and deliver your orders and bookings.
- To calculate accurate prayer times for your location.
- To send prayer time notifications and order status updates.
- To provide real-time chat between you and riders or service providers.
- To provide customer support.
- To improve app features and performance.
- To prevent fraud and ensure account security.
- To send promotional offers (you can opt out at any time).
3. Wallet & Financial Data
- Wallet Balance & Transactions: Your QuettaWal Wallet balance, top-up history, transfers, and bill payment records are stored on our secure servers and are only accessible to you.
- PIN Security: Your wallet PIN is stored as a one-way bcrypt hash — we cannot read or recover your PIN. After 3 consecutive incorrect PIN attempts, your wallet is locked for 12 hours and you will be notified by email.
- Transfers are final: Once a peer-to-peer transfer or bill payment is confirmed, it cannot be reversed. Contact support immediately if you believe a transaction was made in error.
⚠️ Important: We will never ask for your wallet PIN via phone, email, or SMS. Any such request is fraudulent — please report it to support@quettawal.com immediately.
4. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only with:
- Service Providers: Restaurants, drivers, pharmacies, and other partners to fulfill your orders — only the minimum data needed.
- Payment Processors: To securely process payments and top-ups.
- SMS Gateway (Twilio): Your phone number is shared to send OTP verification messages.
- Legal Requirements: When required by Pakistani law or a valid government authority order.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure cloud servers hosted on Railway (EU/US regions). We use
industry-standard TLS encryption for all data transmitted between the app and our servers.
Passwords and wallet PINs are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text.
We conduct regular security reviews and access is restricted to authorized personnel only.
6. Permissions Used
- Microphone: For the voice assistant feature only. Audio is processed by the on-device speech engine and not uploaded to our servers.
- Location: To show nearby services, estimate delivery times, and calculate accurate prayer times. Used only while the app is open (foreground).
- Notifications: For prayer time alerts, order status updates, and promotional messages.
- Internet: To load services, process orders, and stream adhan audio.
- Camera / Storage: To upload profile photos or listing images in Wal Bazar marketplace.
7. Prayer Times & Adhan
Prayer times are calculated locally on your device using the Adhan calculation library —
no data is sent to external servers for this purpose. Adhan audio may be streamed from
third-party CDNs (Islamic Network). No personal data is shared during audio streaming.
8. Children's Privacy
QuettaWal is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect
personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with
personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
9. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Opt out of marketing communications at any time via Profile → Settings → Notifications.
- Delete your account at any time via Profile → Settings → Delete Account.

10. Third-Party Services
The app may integrate with the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policy:
- Twilio (SMS OTP delivery)
- Islamic Network CDN (adhan audio)
- OpenStreetMap (map tiles)
- Railway.app (server hosting)
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes
via an in-app notice or email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect
any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
