How to Fix “USB Device Not Recognized” in Windows

USB Device Not Recognized error occurs by missing of drivers on the reason that can’t recognize as to whether the driver is malfunctioned or otherwise. So that’s why you are not able to see your portable drive in your computer. Following are the steps to solve this issue:-

Solution 1: Remove Power Supply

Step 1: Unplug your power cable first then plug it again

Unplug your computer Power cable and plug it again which means that totally power supply is removed and when you plugged it again it is refreshing your computer which automatically will take the missing driver.

Step 2: Remove RAM from your Computer and clean it with a Rubber

By Removing the Ram from Motherboard and cleaning it and plugging it again will automatically Refresh your computer and will resolve the issue.

Step 3: Now disconnect your USB and reconnect it again

Step 4: Now insert your Device and check it. If you see the error again then unplug for a movement and then re-plug again.

Solution 2: Update Device Drivers

Step 1: Open Run(Windows Logo + R) and type “devmgmt.msc” and click OK.

Step 2: Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.

Step 3: Attach your device which is not recognized

Step 4: You will see an Unknown USB device (Port reset failed) with a yellow sign in Universal Serial Bus controllers

Step 5: Now right-click on it and click Uninstall to remove them.

Step 6: Now restart your PC, the drivers are reinstalled automatically after the reboot. That’s it.

Step 7: If not working, then follow below Solution.

Solution 3: Reinstall USB Drivers

If USB Device Not Recognized because of corrupt USB drivers, then below steps are solve the corrupt USB drivers and also solve USB not recognized the problem.

Step 1: Open Device Manager (Right Click on Windows Logo and Click Device Manager).

Step 2: Now find and expand Universal Serial Bus controllers. Now right click on USB drivers and click Uninstall. Do for all USB drivers one by one.

Step 3: Now Restart your PC. The USB drivers are automatically re-install and solve the corrupted USB devices.
